around the world have been predicting further gains in gold in the wake of the
momentum that caused the yellow metal to break the 2,000-ounce mark a few days
ago. Some in the market were apprehensive about the reform, as the corona virus
crisis forces investors to buy billions.
Gold prices
hit Dollar 2,000 an ounce for the first time on
Tuesday, the latest in a series of shelters amid economic uncertainty.
The precious
metal symbolically reached the key benchmark near 4:04 pm GMT before having to
retreat somewhat and then crossing the line again 30 minutes later.
Gold prices
have risen more than 30 percent this year as the outbreak of the corona virus
has weakened the economy and clouded the global financial outlook.
"The price
of gold is seen as an opportunity to buy," the commercial bank said in an
analysis.
