John Lennon's assassin David Chapman's parole bid was rejected for the 11th time
Nearly 40 years after the singer's death, the killer of music teacher John Lennon has been denied parole for the 11th time.
Mark David Chapman, 65, who killed the Beatles frontman in December 1980, will spend at least two years in Wendy's prison, according to reports. ۔ Correctional facility in New York.
Earlier, the
convict's parole was rejected after an interview on August 19. Chapman is now
expected to appear before the New York State Board of Parole in 2022.
Lenin, 40,
was shot four times by Chapman outside the Dakota apartment building in Upper
West Side on December 8, 1980. The singer was accompanied by his wife, Yoko
Ono, when the incident occurred.
After Lenin
was shot, JD stayed at the scene reading a copy of The Catcher in Rai by
Salanger, until he was arrested by police.
His
notorious killer was initially granted parole in 2000. He had revealed in
previous hearings how he still receives a letter full of grief that led to the
death of a beloved musician.
Lenin's
second wife, Ono, opposed the release of her late husband's killer, claiming
that her release would endanger her late husband's children, Julian and Sean.
